Maslikhat meeting on restraining prices for NWT

The Chairman of the Board of JSC "SEC "Astana" at the meeting of the Maslikhat reported on the measures taken to stabilize prices for socially important food products within the powers of the SEC.

The main issues raised in the report:

• The price index for NWF for the last week (from July 19 to July 26) in the city of Nur-Sultan amounted to 100.3% or 4th place among 20 regions.

• Last week, prices increased for rice, beef meat, potatoes, onions, sugar.

• The main reasons are a decrease in stocks, an increase in prices among producers, an unripe harvest.

• The provision of loans to business entities to stabilize prices for food products is carried out strictly in accordance with the decisions of the Commission under the Mayor's Office of the city, which indicates the loan amount, the period of price stabilization, the loan term.

According to statistics, the price index for SSP from January to July of this year in the city of Nur-Sultan amounted to 119.3% or 4th place among 20 regions.

The sale of goods under existing contracts is carried out in more than 110 retail facilities of the city: Magnum (60 units), Astykzhan (2 units), Anvar (3 units), Akmol TD (4 units), VkusMart (8 units), Ayan (3 units), Azat (1 unit), Fermag (1 unit), Shapagat market (1 unit), TD Eurasia (1 unit), TD Gulzhag (1 unit), etc.

In total, from 2020 to the present, 31 loans in the amount of 12.8 billion tenge have been issued to stabilize the prices of socially significant food products (19 items), of which 5 loans have been repaid in full.

The implementation of the mechanism of price stabilization for socially important food products by providing loans to business entities shows its effectiveness.

• Expanded the range of products from 8 to 19;

• Increased market coverage from 6 to 110 outlets;

• Increased the volume of purchase of goods from 12 thousand tons to 43 thousand tons.

"On an ongoing basis, together with the Mayor's office of the city, we are conducting explanatory work on providing preferential loans to retail facilities, commodity producers, work on providing retail outlets to commodity producers. Regarding price control within the framework of the concluded loan agreements, the SEC, together with the Akimat, weekly monitors prices for the availability of products on the shelves and for compliance with the established prices," Alimkulov E.A. said in his report.

In addition, in order to stabilize prices for socially important goods, issues were discussed and several proposals were developed.
